NEW! SOFTBALL FOR 2026

Registration Update

Registration for Wauwatosa Little League Softball has now closed. Thank you to all of the families who signed up for the 2026 season!

If you missed the deadline but are still hoping to participate, please contact us right away. In some cases, players may still be added to teams as space permits.

Each division currently has a waitlist available, and we will work to place players if roster spots become available.

Tee Ball Registration is Still Open!
Tee Ball registration remains open until April 12th, so families with players in that division can still sign up.

We’re excited for to another great season of baseball, softball, and community at Wauwatosa Little League!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Wauwatosa Little League Softball — registration has officially closed!

Wauwatosa LIttle League is launching Little League Softball for our community. Little League Softball offers a highly organized recreational option for Softball players of all levels of interest and ability. Starting at 6 and going through age 12, all girls are welcome to sign up. Note, with our league forming most of the kids have signed up for Coach Pitch (6-8). Players at older age groups (9-10 Minors; 11-12, Majors) may want to contact the coordinator to learn more about the current offerings.

The Softball schedule runs from April through July, with games beginning in May. Teams will practice/play on two days of the week and a couple Saturdays. Our program will tap into the already existing network of District 1 Little League Softball programs to offer a variety of opponents and lean on the strength of this well established program to ensure a successful launch. Families can register at www.tosamll.com. Registration deadline is March 14, 2026. For more information, reach out to Softball Coordinator Steven Anderson at [email protected], or by phone at 563-451-7232.

For this inaugural season of Wauwatosa Little League Softball, the cost for all divisions is only $75

When is the Season?
The main (spring) season will roughly align with the baseball season, starting with indoor practices in March, transitioning outdoors as weather permits, and running through mid-July. Tentatively, Coach Pitch is expected to be played on Mondays and Wednesdays with a few select Saturdays, with Minors games expected to be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some Saturdays.

How is Player Age Determined?

Division placement is determined by Little League Softball age, which aligns with the calendar year. The Little League Softball Age Chart is a handy tool to find your player’s age. Here's how that looks for 2026:

  • Coach Pitch: 2017, 2018 and 2019 birthyears
  • Minors: 2015, 2016 and 2017 birthyears
  • Major: 2013 and 2014 birthyears

COACH PITCH (AGES 6 - 8)

For Softball Beginners!

Players ages 6-8 (2017, 2018 and 2019 birthyears) may register for the Coach Pitch Division. Coach Pitch is for young players who are just starting softball and may have previously played tee ball. Teams may play games in the District 1 Little League Machine Pitch League or in house through Wauwatosa Little League as requested by registered families. The League anticipates AT LEAST 2 coach pitch teams.

The goal of Coach Pitch is to teach players the fundamentals of softball—throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and base running—before introducing player pitching. Here's what to expect:

  • Skill development over winning
  • Teaching rules with a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Encouraging players to try multiple positions
  • Ensuring lots of reps for every player
  • Later in the season, player pitching may be introduced to prepare players for the next level

MINORS (AGES 8-10)

Let the Kids Pitch!

Players ages 8-10 (2015, 2016, and 2017 birthyears) may register for the Minors Division. For 2026, teams will practice at Wauwatosa Little League sites and play games within District 1 Little League Softball. The League's hope is to have least one full team of Minors-level players. In the event a full team cannot be put together, registered families will be given a variety of options. To learn more, please reach out to the Softball Coordinator.

Minors is the next developmental step after Rookies, where players begin to experience real game situations with player pitching, competitive play, and official rules, but with modifications that keep the focus on learning and fun. Here's what to expect:

  • Build fundamental skills and game awareness
  • Teach pitching mechanics safely and gradually
  • Introduce real game rules (strikes, walks, stealing, and strategy)
  • Teach sportsmanship and teamwork in a more competitive setting than Rookies
  • Promote confidence, leadership, and fun
  • Rotate players through multiple positions to build versatility

MAJORS (AGES 11 & 12)

Take it to the Next Level!

Players ages 11-12 may register for the Majors Division. For 2026, Wauwatosa Little league will be attempting to form one Majors team. If a complete team is formed, they will practice using WLL sites and play in the District 1 Little League Softball Division. If a complete team cannot be formed, players will be given the option of joining a neighboring League’s team or receiving a refund.

Majors is the highest level of the core Little League program. Players experience full competitive softball with nearly complete regulation rules. This age group is eligible to advance to the Little League Softball World Series and represents the full game experience while still emphasizing player growth, teamwork, and fun. Here's what to expect:

  • Refine and master core softball skills
  • Develop pitching consistency and endurance
  • Teach advanced game strategy and awareness
  • Promote leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork
  • Prepare players for tournament and all-star play
  • Maintain a focus on positive competition and respect for opponents
