What is Wauwatosa Little League?
Wauwatosa Little League (WLL), formerly North Central Little League (NCLL), is a member of Wisconsin's District 1, providing fun and competitive baseball and softball for children in Wauwatosa and the surrounding Milwaukee area. Our baseball program caters to players aged 4-15 and our new softball program caters to players aged 6-12, offering a great opportunity for kids to develop their skills and enjoy the game of baseball/softball in a friendly environment.

How competitive is WLL?
We like to call it “introductory competitive.” WLL provides a complete baseball and softball experience that develops skills, builds character, and creates lasting memories. No player is cut. Every player plays in every game. We try to form teams that are balanced and competitive with one another. Players are encouraged to learn and play each defensive position. The spring season includes pre-season practices and regular season games, and certain higher divisions include end-of-season in-house tournaments, allowing for gradual skill development. Players develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship. For players who want a higher level of commitment and competition, Little League players have the opportunity to be selected to represent Wauwatosa Little League in the All-Stars Tournament, which can eventually lead to the Little League World Series. In addition to Little League, players can also tryout for a Bombers select baseball team.

What’s the difference between WLL and the Tosa Baseball League?
Both Wauwatosa Little League (WLL) and the Tosa Baseball League (TBL) offer youth baseball in Wauwatosa. WLL is the official local Little League affiliate serving Wauwatosa residents as well as residents in nearby Northwestern Milwaukee neighborhoods. TBL is an independent organization not affiliated with Little League or WLL.

Divisions & Schedules
What divisions are offered and what are the age ranges and grades for each division?
Divisions are aligned with “Little League Age” and designed to create a comprehensive baseball and softball experience, building skills and confidence in age-appropriate ways at each level.
Baseball
Little League Baseball divisions are aligned as follows:
- Tee Ball - ages 4-6, geared towards kindergarteners. Tee Ball is where children are introduced to baseball and softball. They learn the basics in a non-competitive atmosphere focused on having fun.
- Machine Pitch - ages 6-8, geared towards 1st and 2nd graders. Machine Pitch advances players from tee hitting to hitting moving balls at a consistent speed. Play becomes slightly more competitive and scores are kept, but the focus continues to be on having fun and fostering a love for baseball. A player who is Little League age 6 for baseball is eligible to play Tee Ball or may play Machine Pitch if they have already played a season of Tee Ball.
- Minors - ages 9-10, geared towards 3rd and 4th graders. Minors introduces player pitching along with more complex rules, advanced skills, and game strategy.
- Intermediate - ages 11-12, geared towards 5th and 6th graders. Intermediate takes the competition up a notch and is played on traditional Little League fields (50’ pitching, 70’ bases). This age group is eligible to advance to the Little League World Series.
- Juniors - ages 13-15, geared towards 7th and 8th graders (also 9th graders not playing high school baseball). Juniors provides the regulation baseball experience (60’6” pitching, 90’ bases), preparing players for high school baseball. This division is also open for 9th graders who are not playing high school baseball. This age group is eligible to advance to the Little League World Series.
Little League Baseball Age - Little League baseball age is determined by the age your child will be on August 31 at the end of the season. For example, a player born on August 10, 2019, is Little League age 7 for the 2026 spring baseball season, making them eligible for Machine Pitch. Little League Baseball Age Chart.
Softball
Little League Softball divisions are aligned as follows:
- Coach Pitch - ages 6-7, birth years 2018 and 2019. Coach Pitch teaches the fundamentals of softball - throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and base running - before introducing player pitching. Teams may play games in the District 1 Little League Coach Pitch League or in house.
- Minors - ages 8-10, birth years 2016 and 2017. Minors is the next developmental step after Coach Pitch, where players begin to experience real game situations with player pitching, competitive play, and official rules, but with modifications that keep the focus on learning and fun. For 2026, teams will practice at WLL sites and play games within District 1 Little League Softball. The League anticipates having at least one full team of Minors-level players.
- Majors - ages 11-12, birth years 2014 and 2015. Majors is the highest level of the core Little League Softball program. Players experience full competitive softball with nearly complete regulation rules, while still emphasizing player growth, teamwork, and fun. For 2026, WLL is attempting to form one Majors team. If a complete team is formed, they will practice using WLL sites and play in the District 1 Little League Softball Division. If a complete team cannot be formed, players may be given the option of joining a neighboring League’s team or receiving a full refund.
Little League Softball Age - Little League softball age is determined by birth year. For example, a player born in 2019 is considered Little League age 6 for the 2026 spring softball season, making them eligible for Coach Pitch no matter which month they were born. Little League Softball Age Chart.
