Spring Baseball Preview: Spring Baseball offers young players a complete baseball experience that develops skills, builds character, and creates lasting memories. The season includes pre-season practices, regular season games, and end-of-season in-house tournaments, allowing for gradual skill development. Players develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, sportsmanship, and strong bonds with teammates and coaches. Our Little League community comes together for Family Day, Brewers Little League Night, Wauwatosa 4th of July Parade, and more. Spring Baseball participation makes players eligible for All-Star tournament teams that compete beyond the regular season.  

Spring Baseball is the foundation of our program, providing the comprehensive baseball experience that builds skills for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game. For many families, Little League becomes a cherished tradition that creates lasting memories and friendships.

Registration: Registration for all divisions except Tee Ball is open through March 14. Note: we will accommodate requests for teammates and coaches to the best of our ability through February 22. Tee Ball registration is open through April 12.

Winter Clinics: Affordable clinics will be offered to all registered players over the winter to sharpen skills and prepare for the season. Details are posted on the Winter Clinics page.

Refund Policy: Refunds are only offered for extenuating circumstances and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For Machine Pitch through Juniors, $50.00 of each player's registration fee is nonrefundable prior to registration closing (March 14, 2026) and $125.00 of each player's registration fee is nonrefundable once initial registration has closed.  

Team Selection: Tee Ball and Machine Pitch teams will be formed based on school and friend requests to the best of the league's ability. Minors, Intermediates, and Juniors will be drafted to teams. Players will be notified by email from their coaches in March (Tee Ball players will be notified in April).

Season Schedule: Indoor practices will begin in late March, and outdoor practices will start in early April (depending on weather and field conditions). Games will begin in late April. Watch for announcements for a parent information night before the start of the season. The season will conclude in July with in-house tournaments.

Divisions: For 2026, we will be offering the following Little League Baseball divisions: Tee Ball, Machine Pitch, Minors, Intermediate, and Juniors. These divisions are described below. Division placement is determined by a player’s age as of August 31st of that season (8/31/2026). The Little League Baseball Age Chart is a handy tool to find your player’s age. Where it All Begins!

Geared towards kindergarteners, Tee Ball is where children are introduced to the great game of baseball. They learn the basics in a non-competitive atmosphere focused on having fun. Here’s what to expect:

• Hitting: Learn how to get into a proper stance and take a controlled swing with the ball on a stationary tee.
• Fielding: Learn how to position the glove and make a basic throw.
  
• Baserunning: Learn to run the bases safely and stay on the base until the ball is put in play.
  
• Teamwork: Learn the basic positions and be introduced to the concept of playing a team sport.
  
• Format: The Tee Ball experience involves a pre-game practice followed by a relatively short game against another team. Players rotate through defensive positions, and everybody hits.
  
• For Coaches: The 10-week Little League Tee Ball Program Guide arms coaches with everything they need to teach players the fundamentals of the game and learn basic skills while having fun.
  

From Tee to Machine - Grow the Love of the Game!

Geared towards 1st and 2nd graders, Machine Pitch advances players from tee hitting to hitting moving balls at a consistent speed. Play becomes slightly more competitive and scores are kept, but the focus continues to be on having fun and fostering a love for baseball.

• Hitting: Transition to hitting moving balls fed into a machine by coaches, focusing on tracking, timing, and contact.
  
• Fielding: Learn proper fielding technique and the responsibilities of each position on the field.
  
• Baseball IQ: Understand force outs, basic baserunning strategy, and situational awareness.
  
• Teamwork and Growth: Develop baseball and non-baseball skills like listening, cooperation, confidence, and practicing good sportsmanship.
  
• Format: Practices are separate from games. Games more closely follow standard baseball rules and last 6 innings or until a time limit is reached, whichever happens first.

Let the Kids Pitch!

Geared towards 3rd and 4th graders, Minors introduces player pitching along with more complex rules, advanced skills, and game strategy.

• Player Pitching: Learn proper mechanics and accuracy with age-appropriate pitch counts and rest requirements.
  
• Hitting: Adjust to different pitch speeds and locations while developing consistent swing mechanics.
  
• Defensive Skills: Begin position specialization while still learning multiple positions. Master footwork, double plays, and cutoffs.
  
• Teamwork and Growth: Continue to develop concentration and emotional control skills, while accepting constructive criticism and respect opponents and umpires. Working as a team and supporting teammates increases in importance.
  
• Format: Games are called by umpires and last 6 innings or until a time limit is reached, whichever happens first.
  

Take it to the Next Level!

Geared towards 5th and 6th graders, Intermediate takes the competition up a notch and is played on traditional Little League fields (50’ pitching, 70' bases). This age group is eligible to advance to the Little League World Series.

• Pitching Development: Learn different pitch types, location strategy, and techniques for holding runners, pickoff moves, and balks.

• Situational Hitting: Work on hit placement, moving runners, adjusting to different pitchers, and plate discipline.

• Defensive Specialization: Focus on primary positions while progressing to more advanced concepts like double cuts and bunt coverage.

• Baseball Strategy: Learn pitch selection, defensive positioning, leading off, base stealing, and baserunning decisions through game situations.

• Teamwork and Growth: Develop responsibility, accountability, and leadership. Learn mental toughness and team commitment.

• Format: Games are called by umpires and last 6 innings or until a time limit is reached, whichever happens first.

The Full Baseball Experience

Geared towards 7th and 8th graders, Juniors provides the regulation baseball experience (60'6" pitching, 90' bases), preparing players for high school baseball. This division is also intended for 9th graders who are not playing high school baseball.

• Full-Field Skills: Adapt to regulation dimensions by developing arm strength for longer throws and adjusting timing between bases.
  
• Advanced Pitching: Master pitch variety, location, and situational pitching while building stamina and velocity.
  
• Complete Hitting: Adjust to higher-level pitching with refined timing and approach. Develop power hitting and all-field hitting ability.
  
• Position Mastery: Receive position-specific coaching resembling high school instruction with emphasis on defensive systems.
  
• Leadership Development: Build mature leadership, mental toughness, and time management. Learn to balance academics with athletics and mentor younger players.
  
• Player-Led Game Management: Take ownership of on-field decisions and strategy in preparation for high school expectations.
