Programs Offered through Wauwatosa Milwaukee Little League (WMLL)
Youth Baseball for Wauwatosa and Milwaukee
T-Ball (4-6 years old)
· Teams will consist of 8 to 10 players per team. WMLL teaches the very basic fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and running the bases. The primary focus is for the kids to have fun while learning the game. The league does its best to build teams with kids from the same schools, neighborhoods, and to fulfill requests. The expectation of this division is for 4yr and 5yr old players to learn the game of baseball. Games for the 2023 season will be played at Kops Park, Madison Park or Schoenecker Park.
· T-ball will typically play one game a week starting in in the middle of May running through the middle of July Games are 60 minutes in length with built in practice time for the players. Expect to play up to 10-12 games.
Machine Pitch (6-8 years old)
· Teams consist of 12 to 13 players (10 players are used on defense). Players are assigned randomly their first year and are given the option to stay on the same team as returning players. The league does its best to build teams with kids from the same schools, neighborhoods and to fulfill any requests. Games for the 2023 season will be played at Kops Park, Madison Park or Schoenecker Park.
· A pitching machine is used. Practices start in April at our indoor facility, the Hanger, and will transition to the outdoor fields as weather permits. Expect to play 16-20 game which includes an annual end of your tournament in July. Scores are kept and stats are tracked. Games have a fun and introductory competitive atmosphere.
· Games begin in May and the season is completed by mid-July. The focus is on further developing basic baseball skills and teaching teamwork. All skill levels are welcome. The season concludes with district tournament hosted by Wauwatosa Milwaukee Little League.
· Players are assigned by schools, neighborhoods, and requests, we do not draft players at this age level..
Minors (Kid Pitch)(9-10 years old)
· Teams are formed via the player draft in April. Teams consist of 12 players (9 are used on defense).
· This is the first year of player pitch. Team practices begin in April at our indoor facility, the Hangar, and will transition to the outdoor fields as weather permits. Games begin in May and conclude with an in-house tournament in July. Expect to play 14-18 games to include the end of season tournament. Games for the 2023 season will be played at Kops Park, Madison Park or Schoenecker Park.
· All skill levels are welcome. Focus is developmental with an emphasis on higher-level baseball skills, such as pitching, base running, and proper throwing mechanics and fielding. This level of baseball includes 46' pitching mound, 60' base paths, stealing after the pitch crosses the plate.
Majors (Kid Pitch)(11-12 years old)
· Players are drafted by managers at the spring player draft in April.
· This is a player pitch division. Expect to play 12-16 games.
· Team practices begin April at our indoor facility, the Hangar, and will transition to the outdoor fields as weather permits. Games begin May and conclude in July with an in-house tournament. Focus is still developmental in nature with an emphasis on teamwork and fostering a positive atmosphere among players and coaches.
· All skill levels are welcome. Games for the 2023 season will be played primarily at Madison Park or Schoenecker Park.
Juniors (13-14 Year Olds)
· This division plays on regulation baseball diamonds using full baseball rules.
· Players are drafted by managers at the spring player draft in April.
· Juniors play a schedule that includes Wauwatosa Milwaukee Little League league games and “cross-town” games against other Little Leagues weekdays and Saturdays. Team practices begin April at our indoor facility, the Hangar, and will transition to the outdoor fields as weather permits. Games start in May and the season is completed in July. The focus is more competitive baseball and games are against inter-league teams with other Little Leagues in District 1 Little League.
